The Forge Iceberg Island Maze Guide – Reset Times, Secret Pickaxe, Merchant & More

If you prefer getting lost in a maze, then you definitely need to explore the Forge maze on Iceberg island (the one that kept kicking us out of the game when the winter island update dropped). This area doesn't have any ores for you to mine, but the Forge Maze does have a Merchant, special mobs and quests which you can complete, and we're here to help you do it.

How to Get to the Iceberg Island in the Forge

First, you have to know how to even get to the Iceberg Island in the Forge if you want to explore the maze. While you could just swim across to the island before, now you are required to pay a ferryman to get you across to the other side.

The price is one Coinite per trip. That means that if you close the game, you will respawn on Frostspire Expanse, and you'll have to pay the ferryman again. You can farm Coinite in the secret Raven Cave behind Moro.

After you have it, go to the Ferry by following the path to the docks. Interact with the NPC, then enjoy a fun cutscene of you sailing to the Iceberg Island in the Forge.

How to Complete the Forge Maze

For starters, it's important to know that the Maze will reset each day. That means that each day you will have to find a new path to reveal the secrets of the Iceberg Island. Here are some tips we can give you:

  • Look for differences in the environment. Most paths look the same but if you see changes, that means progress is being made.
  • When you encounter a crossroads, the Fungi Merchant will be right down one of the paths.
  • If you see a long hallway with lit up torches, that means you are close to the main room of the Maze where you can get the Heavenly Pickaxe.

When does the Forge Maze Reset?

At the entrance to the Maze, you will see a sign that says it resets daily. It doesn't say an exact time for when it does. However, from conversation with the Fungi Merchant, we know that she moves with the Maze. That means that whenever her Shop resets is when the Maze will also reset. From what we know, that should be at 1 AM CET / 4 PM PST.

Secret Maze FAQ

Do I have to pay the Ferry Operator every time?

Yes, each trip costs one Coinite. That means you should farm Coinite when mining the Raven Cave so that you can ensure you always have payment when you need it.

If I die, will I respawn on Iceberg Island?

No, if you die you will respawn back on the main island, Frostspire Expanse. That's why you should be careful when fighting the Skeleton Pirates and Cthulhu on the island to not get killed, or you will have wasted a Coinite.

Where can I find the Heavenly Pickaxe?

The Heavenly Pickaxe is in the main room of the Secret Maze at Iceberg Island. You will have to complete multiple Angelic Quests to unlock the gate and be able to reach it.
