When Does Grow a Garden 2 Come Out?
Grow a Garden 2 comes out on June 12, 2026 at 10 AM PST / 7 PM CET / 1 PM EST / 5 PM GMT. There is even an official event on the OG GAG page which you can follow to get a notification when it releases. Roblox games do tend to end up delayed at times, but that doesn't seem like it will be the case here (we're hoping).
Is Grow a Garden 2 Officially Confirmed?
The sequel Grow a Garden 2 is officially confirmed from multiple sources, but most importantly from the owner Adrian as well as the entire development team. You can find the live countdown on gag.gg as well as a pinned post on the official Grow a Garden X account. Keep in mind that this game is not the same as Garden Horizons which was only lauded as GAG2 (and didn't really live up to the hype). It wasn't made by the same team and thus wasn't an official sequel like this one is.
What Does the Grow a Garden 2 Trailer Show?
At the end of May, Jandel teased us with a Grow a Garden 2 trailer up on his official X account. In the video, you can see a player plant in their garden, fall asleep, and have a bunch of their plants stolen. This shows that during the night, all Plants are fair game, which means you will have to set up defenses to avoid getting robbed (another thing we can see in the trailer). In the video, you can see the player plant a Venus Flytrap-like plant which eats the would-be robber. Setting up good defenses is going to be essential, especially if you are playing on public servers.

Stealing and Garden Defense
We have official confirmation from the trailer (which you can see above), that players will be able to steal in Grow a Garden 2 for free during the night. You could unlock the stealing mechanic in Grow a Garden as well if you paid with Robux, but it mostly wasn't worth it. Progressing your garden with hard work was much more satisfying.
However, in GAG2 stealing and protecting your garden from others is the core gameplay loop. From the official GAG X account you can see various plants with special abilities which can defend your garden. For example, Dragon's Breath shoots fire at players, while the Venus Fly Trap straight up just eats you.

It's also interesting to speculate whether there will be something like a health upgrade system, where you can upgrade your health to survive the defenses of other players. We have seen leaks for a crowbar, so will most likely be tools to help you get around traps and dangerous plants, though it isn't confirmed how extensive this will be.
Guild System (Gilbert NPC)
While we have seen the image of Gilbert the NPC, there is no official confirmation just yet on what he does. It is speculated that he will be connected to the Guild system, which seems to have been leaked on the Grow a Garden 2 game page created by @BMWLux (Adrian, the owner of GaG) which has now been taken down. On it, however, guilds were featured as a major part of the game, so we can expect that this will be the case, we just don't have exact details how this will work out just yet.
Pets and Egg Hatching
From leaks, rumors (@Dobigleak), as well as official polls from the dev team, Grow a Garden 2 will also include a Pet and Egg hatching system. The Pets will most likely help you defend your base just like plants do, though this is unconfirmed as of yet. The leaks also show different sizes of Pets, which might also affect their passives/boosts/abilities. Some of the leaked Pets include: Deer, Birds, Frog, Bunny, and Gnome (though we're not sure if a Gnome counts as a pet exactly).
New Seeds and Crops
New Seeds and Crops can be expected in Grow a Garden 2, and the devs have shared various leaks and sneak peaks. We can also just expect new and slightly more terrifying crop design when it comes to the Plants doing defense duties (we really want to avoid getting eaten by the Venus Fly Trap).
What's Different From Grow a Garden?
| Feature | Grow a Garden | Grow a Garden 2 |
|---|---|---|
| Map layout | Square with plots in two rows, shops at the edges of the map, events in the middle of the map. | Plots organized in a circle with the shops in the middle. |
| Stealing | Purchased through Robux, not worth it. | Stealing is free at night, core gameplay mechanic of GAG2 |
| Defense | None | Plants confirmed, rumored fences, walls, and pets |
| Pets | Stationary, special passive abilities and boosts | Rumored pets include Deer, Frog, Bird, Bunny, and Gnome. From leaks, we can also see that Pets can be various sizes, as well as predict that they will also have special abilities for garden defense |
| Guilds | None | Leaked as an in-game constant Guild system |
| Offline progress | Plants grow offline | Plants grow offline (same as in both) |
Will Your Grow a Garden Progress Transfer?
Sadly, there is no mention about any progression from the OG Grow a Garden transferring to the sequel. That means you will have to start your entire garden from scratch. This makes sense since you will have to set up your garden in a different way than in the original, since you'll want to optimally position your Plants that will catch robbers.
Will There Be Grow a Garden 2 Codes?
The Grow a Garden 2 codes are still unconfirmed. The original did have codes, and it is usually a standard for any game on Roblox to have them. We can hope that there will be some codes and that they will be useful, either giving Sheckles or special traps, fenses, and even Plants to help you protect your garden.

From what we can tell, this is a separate game with no transferable progress across it and the original. If the devs make any special announcements we will be sure to update you!
Just like the OG, Grow a Garden 2 is free to play. The game will most likely include various Robux purchases like Gamepasses and Boost, but they won't be essential to game progression.
No, these are separate game by different developers. Garden Horizons launched February 2026 and was lauded as the GAG successor, but it sadly did not live up to the title. GAG 2 is the only official sequel.
