Marie's Room is a free to play short-story exploration game that takes you through a moment in time from Marie and Kelsey's life. It has similarities to Life is Strange, but is much shorter and you don't interact with people or make choices that change the outcome of the story. There's a couple of parts that you might not find the answers to that will impede your progress, so I've thrown together a quick guide so you can experience the full story. Keep in mind that you can't save at any point, this is a game that needs to be played through in one sitting!
There are spoilers ahead, so if you don't want to know too much then don't read the descriptions, just look for where I added the answers.
Fermi Pardox
This isn't really part of the larger story, but it has always been something I have found interesting so I wanted to point it out. The Fermi paradox is basically that even though there's a high probability of life in the universe, we have found next to no evidence of any intelligent life outside of our own. It's a very interesting subject, and I won't do it justice, so check out the Wikipedia entry for it. Also, look into the Great Filter which might be an explanation for the lack of found life.
QR Code
If you flip over the La La Land movie ticket stub, you will find a QR code. You can use your phone's camera (iPhone does it automatically) or a QR reader app to view the message. If you don't want to bother with that, here's what it says: "Well done you! Thank you so much for playing Marie's Room".
Marie's Laptop Password
If you take a look at Marie's laptop it requires a password to get in. If you type in a password and are wrong it gives you a clue: "I'm not a...". Which leaves you to fill in the blank. You might remember this phrase if you have been diligently looking around the room, but to solve the password the answer is under the doormat on a scrap of paper:
The password to Marie's laptop is "shadow person".
Every Word & The Complete Picture Steam Achievements
Before you move onto the case, if you want to fully complete your achievements on Steam you will need to interact with every story object. If you are worried you haven't gotten them all, check out this full list of them!
Marie's Case Combination
Now you should only do this if you are ready to move along the story to the end. Once you've got yourself the combination, it basically pushes you forward and you can no longer access a lot of the room. To figure out the combination, you need to unlock the majority of the journal. Some pages have a red number stamped on them, and once you unlock enough pages, it will combine to finish the combination allowing you to unlock the case.
The combination to Marie's case is: 3-4-9-5-1.
