Ray Tracing is a very popular technology that allows for the most realistic and beautiful lighting in the game. Fortnite introduced this technology in an update in 2020.

Some people might want to play around with this setting due to its impact on the performance. Fortnite can run smoother with Ray Tracing turned off depending on the PC it is running on.

Minimal Ray Tracing Requirements:

  • CPU: 4 cores or more
  • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 or higher
  • OS: Windows 10

Remember that DirectX 12 must be installed and enabled in order to turn Ray Tracing on in Fortnite.
