Roblox Spirit of Hallow’s Eve delayed to Oct. 2022

Since the slow reintroduction of a widely accessible platform, many Roblox developers have had to take a step back and revaluate some of their previously doable but now seemingly ambitious plans for November. Unfortunately, popular developer and Twitter user MidnightKrystal is one of them. Though two options are currently being considered as to how the Spirit of Hallow's Eve event should proceed, it seems as though the most likely verdict is a push-back to Halloween of next year.

In a statement posted to Twitter, MidnightKrystal spoke of her disappointment about the inability to release the experience on Oct. 31, 2021, as originally planned, saying:

All time in development is extremely critical, and these few days taken from us has cost us the exact time we needed to release the event as expected. For this I am sorry...I personally am worried about the quality of the event and the disappointment of releasing it after the Halloween Hype train has gone and departed on its spooky rails.

Spirit of Hallow's Eve was meant to be open from Oct. 31, 2021, until Nov. 30, 2021. However, with Roblox's status over the Halloween weekend, the original release date quickly became unviable. As we inch past Halloween and enter November, MidnightKrystal and her development team are considering the pros and cons of a late Nov. 2021 release versus an Oct. 2022 release.

Truth be told I'm not sure which direction to take. One hand releasing in November could be really helpful for the participating developers, though on the other hand it [releasing in Oct. 2022] would give us the time to make the event even better than originally planned. Nonetheless, I apologize that it turned out this way.

As of Nov. 2, 2021, there's been no additional news from the Spirit of Hallow's Eve development team as to when the experience will be moved to. MidnightKrystal is also a developer for the popular Roblox FPS Arsenal, so she's had a full plate adding to their Halloween update. When a date is released, this article will be updated accordingly.
