Collecting and maintaining many resources is crucial to having an efficient island in the Minecraft-esque Roblox experience, Islands. One of the most popular ways to collect resources is by creating auto farms, or farms that will run and harvest themselves even when you're not around. You can easily create these farms with the use of resource totems. However, not every resource has a corresponding totem, and unfortunately, wood is one of them.
Wood auto-farm
Unlike the guides we wrote on how to create iron and potato farms, this guide, in particular, doesn't have an easy answer. Due to the lack of wood totems, a standard conveyer belt layout won't work for an auto-farm. Instead, this process will require an auto-clicker, a program that is forbidden in Roblox and can result in your account being banned if used. If you still want to take the risk after knowing the consequences, however, YouTuber DV Plays has created a tutorial for a relatively easy auto-farm using auto-clickers.
Other methods
Creating your own farm on your island and planting as many saplings as possible is the safest and easiest way to collect wood. Designating a specific plot as your tree farm, fencing it in, and spreading out your saplings two blocks apart are the key steps in this process—and though it isn't fully automated, it can still help maximize your resource intake.
Future totems?
There's no news as to if, or when, developers will add wood totems to Islands—players have been asking for these totems for months, and nothing has changed. In the developer's eyes', it may seem as though wood totems would make the crafting portion of Islands too easy so they're steering away from integrating them. This theory isn't confirmed, but it wouldn't be surprising with Islands' similarity to Minecraft and the issues that Minecraft players have had with auto-farms.
If wood totems are added in a future Islands update, this guide will be updated accordingly!
