You cannot breed Parrots in the Vanilla version of Minecraft. You can only tame them by using seeds. There is a way to breed Parrots, but it requires an add-on to be installed to your game.
This Baby Parrots add-on allows you to breed the Parrots. In vanilla Minecraft, you only feed and tame two parrots by using some of the following seeds:
- Beetroot seeds
- Wheat seeds
- Pumpkin seeds
- Melon seeds
Two parrots can make a cute little baby parrot. The color of the baby is always random, no matter the color of the parents.
How to tame a Parrot in Minecraft?
All you need to do is find a parrot and then feed it some seeds. Grey, smoky particles will appear around the parrot, and when it likes you, they will change into red hearts. There is a 33.3% chance of taming a Parrot when you feed it. Once you tame a Parrot, you can interact with it and pick it up on your shoulder.
Seeds can also be used to replenish the parrot's health when it is damaged. Parrots can only be fed seeds; they will not eat anything else.
