How to heal and regain shields in Control Apex Legends

How to patch yourself up.

The Apex Legends Control mode is very different from Battle Royale and Arenas in many ways. One of the more substantial ways it differs is when it comes to healing. In most modes, you need to loot or buy your consumable healing items, but in Control, you never run out. It isn’t as simple as having infinite of every healing item, though. The way things work is unique to the mode.

Infinite Med Kits and Syringes

Healing your health works exactly the same as in the Winter Express LTM. You have infinite Syringes and Med Kits, and you can switch between them at any time. Syringes heal 25 health, and Med Kits heal you fully. Keep in mind that Med Kits take a fair bit longer to use than Syringes.

Regain Shields Over Time

Unlike in the Winter Express mode, players do not have Shield Cells or Shield Batteries. Instead, Shields will begin to auto-recharge themselves after a player is not damaged for 6 seconds. The shield will heal at the same rate for every Legend, except for Wattson, because it stacks with her passive.

There are no Phoenix Kits in Control, so if you need to heal the majority of your HP, the best thing to do is fall back to a place you can use Med Kit and safely remain there for 6-10 seconds to get your shields back.
