Pokémon Legends: Arceus Food Guide — Favorite foods of every Pokémon type

Don't know what to do with all the cakes you have?

If you're looking to lure a Pokémon near your location or distract them for easy capture, the answer is to throw food. And while you may get through the game just by throwing Oran Berries at all of them, did you know that Pokémon like certain foods better than others?

If you throw food that a Pokémon loves at it, they will consume it slower. This can give you more time to position yourself behind them for a back or Heavy Ball throw.

Unless it's a berry, every cake and its ingredients in Pokémon Legends: Arceus is favored by certain Pokémon. If you throw food near a Pokémon that's not interested in it, they won't eat it. This will let you only feed the Pokémon you want to distract and capture. It's especially helpful in crowded places like swamps.

Here’s a quick guide to every food you can throw, and which Pokémon like them.

  • Dazzling Honey: Loved by Bug and Fairy Pokémon

  • Hearty Grains: Loved by Pokémon who wander in the fields or open spaces

Cakes need to be crafted. Their recipes can be bought from the craftworks in Jubilife Village or be given as a reward for completing certain requests.

When should I throw cakes?

Now that you know that a Dazzling Honey and Honey Cake attract the same Pokémon species, you might be thinking that it's best to throw the ingredient more often than the cake. After all, they're easier to find and cheaper to come by. But this is not always the case.

If you throw food loved by a certain species, other Pokémon will still approach it but not eat it. This can make the Pokémon you want to capture or battle be surrounded by others, making them harder to isolate. In these cases, it's best to throw cakes. Pokémon will rush towards cakes they love faster the curious but ultimately uninterested Pokémon.
