FromSoftware's latest masterpiece, Elden Ring, heavily features the crafting mechanic, and players need to learn all about it before starting their journey. There are a few things players need to do before they can start crafting powerful items in-game.Â
Players will not start the journey with the ability to craft in Elden Ring. Instead, they will have to head over to Church Of Elleh at Limgrave and purchase a Crafting Kit from Merchant Kale in exchange for 300 Runes. After purchasing the Kit, the Item Crafting tab will be available in the menu.

While you can craft at any location on the map, players will need various Crafting Materials and Cookbooks to start crafting. The Item Crafting Tab shows players which materials they need to craft specific items, while the Cookbooks open up more recipe options for players to choose from.
For instance, if players want to craft Rainbow Stone Arrows then they will need three Thin Beast Bones and three Ruin Fragments. Players can also craft a bunch of items at the same time if they have enough materials.
The vast open-world of Elden Ring has crafting materials scattered all across the map. Players will need to collect these materials regularly by hunting, fighting, scavenging, and scouring every nook and corner of the map. It is ideal to keep the crafting inventory stacked with materials, and players should make it a habit to collect every item they find to craft or sell later.
