In Elden Ring, Paintings act as scavenger hunts, with players following clues and hints to the location of the Painting's artist. Once they find the ending location, players are rewarded with an item. The key to these puzzles is for players to find the location where the Painting was made rather than the location it depicts.
For the "Homing Instinct" Painting, players can find the solution by traveling to the Dragon-Burnt Ruins in Limgrave. On the southwest side of these ruins, players can find a ghostly painter that is responsible for the "Homing Instinct" Painting. Interacting with this ghost will complete the "Homing Instinct" puzzle.
Where do you find the "Homing Instinct" Painting?
The "Homing Instinct" Painting can be found in the Limgrave Artist's Shack. This is just a short distance from the starting location. Players can find this Shack to the northeast of the Church of Elleh. The Artist's Shack will have a Site of Grace on-site that players can keep an eye out for when trying to locate the structure.

What will players recieve for solving this puzzle?
When players find the ghostly artist responsible for the "Homing Instinct" Painting, they will be rewarded with the Incantation Scarab. This helmet is a useful item, especially for players who have invested heavily in the Faith attribute. The Incantation Scarab will lower the FP Cost of Incantations but increase the damage that players will take in combat.
