Genshin Impact Hyakunin Ikki Event Guide

Prove your strength in this nonstop fighting tournament!

Genshin Impact's Hyakunin Ikki, an Inazuman-style fighting tournament, is a recurring event that often invites the Traveler back in to show off their battle prowess. During the event, you can configure up to six teams of two and equip them with event-exclusive skills to aid in battle. The objective is simple: get as many points as possible by defeating enemies!

To participate, you must complete the following prerequisites:

  • Reach Adventure Rank 30 or above
  • Complete the quest Ritou Escape Plan from the Archon Quests Chapter II: Act I - The Immovable God and the Eternal Euthymia

Once you've completed all the prerequisites, you'll automatically receive a Hyakunin Ikki Event Quest. It will direct you to speak to Kayabuki Ikkei in Inazuma City. He'll teleport you to a nearby islet, where a suspicious door to the Hyakunin Ikki will open. You can directly teleport to it through an icon in the World Map.

Teleport to the Challenge Area and interact with the Domain to initiate the event. You can choose from six different stages, which will gradually open in the coming days. After choosing a stage, choose your preferred Score Multiplier at the bottom of the screen. A higher Score Multiplier will generate more points, making the enemies much harder to defeat.

Character and Skill configuration

There are six trial characters with preset stats, Artifacts, weapons, and Talents that you can choose to use. If you already own any trial characters, you can choose to use either the trial version or your own. You're required to have at least one character per team, but you're not required to use any of the trial characters if you don't want to.

After setting up your team, you can add up to two Secret Arts to help them in battle. Make sure to pick the ones that pair well with your chosen characters!

Upon starting the Challenge, the first wave of enemies will spawn. Check the gauge at the top of the screen to determine which wave you're in and how close you are to the next wave. There are usually four waves per Challenge.

You'll also find an arrow below the gauge. When it's green, you can continue using your team without consequence. But after the green circle fills up, the arrow will turn red, and your damage will become nearly nonexistent.

When that happens, switch to the next party to reset the arrow, allowing you to deal normal damage numbers once again. You can do so by pressing the indicated key command on the right of the screen below your team composition.

While you're required to switch teams once the arrow turns red, you can also switch teams prematurely every 10 seconds, so choose which works better for your playstyle. Keep repeating this pattern until the Challenge completes once the timer ends.

Each enemy will grant you a number of points, which you can track on the left of the screen during the Challenge. Your goal is to get at least 500 points for the Primogem reward and 2,000 points for all the other rewards. Don't forget to claim these through the event menu!
