How to fix ‘Resource Unavailable’ error on Apple Music

I need my soundtrack back!

Apple Music is a great resource to go to for your tunes while gaming and generally going about your day. The only thing with streaming websites is that they can have errors pop up from time to time. Here is how to deal with the "Resource Unavailable" notification.

You can try a few things, so we will cover all of your options for getting your music back up and running.

Turn it Off and Back on Again

It's a time-tested trick that works more often than not. When that error message pops up, try closing and re-opening the Apple Music app.

If this doesn't solve the problem, you can also attempt to go into the settings menu and disable and then re-enable Apple Music. This acts as a soft reboot which can sometimes fix whatever caused the application to glitch.

Delete and Re-install

If closing the app and opening it again still doesn't make it play ball, then consider deleting the app and re-installing it again from the App Store/Play Store. A fresh installation of an app can do wonders for making an app behave again.

Check if Apple Music is Experiencing an Outage

Occasionally, apps go down for big maintenance updates. If you have tried the above steps and are having no joy, then it might actually be because Apple themselves are doing something big that has messed with the app's connectivity.

You can always check if an app is down on Apple's Support System Status page. A red triangle next to Apple Music means that there is an outage.

Try Reverting Your Phone Software

If you find that this notification is showing after you have recently updated the phone's software. In that case, you can try undoing the update to see if the application worked better before. Updates are not always the improvement we hope them to be.

This, of course, is a more serious step as far as troubleshooting goes. So, use this as a last-ditch effort if you're absolutely certain that this could be the reason for the app malfunctioning.
