How to get wood and make a Root Farm in Core Keeper

Farming is fun!

To get wood in Core Keeper, you will need to find Roots instead of the usual Trees often found in most survival games. You can find roots growing throughout most biomes, so just grab a pickaxe and start exploring.

Sooner or later, you will eventually find Roots, mine them, and you will get several wood resources. You can then turn your freshly harvested wood into tools, weapons, armor, and crafting stations. Crafting wood building parts is also an option, but wood tends to be rare starting out in Core Keeper.

Because of this, you will want to focus on getting a Root farm going as soon as possible. To make a Root farm, you will need to gather a few things.

First, gather some Root seeds by harvesting Roots in the various biomes. After getting Root seeds, you will need to craft a Watering Can and a Copper Hoe.

You can make both by crafting a Workbench and placing it with eight wood. After this, open the Workbench up, and you can craft both a Watering Can and Copper Hoe using Copper Bars.

In total, you will need six Copper Bars and four wood to craft both items. The Copper hoe will need two Copper Bars and four wood, and the Watering Can needs four Copper Bars

You can get the Copper you need by mining the ore from Cooper ore walls you can find in the Starting biome. Once you get ore, smelt it down in a furnace, and you will have everything you need to start a Root farm.

How to make a Root Farm in Core Keeper

To make a Root Farm, start by making a straight line using your Copper Hoe. The line you will want to make should look like ours in the image below.

Have plenty of space on both sides of your line in the dirt, so there is plenty of room for the roots to spread and grow wood. The more space you have, the more wood you can harvest after the Roots stop growing.
