Are there alternatives for followers and mercenaries in Diablo Immortal?

Although you can't hire mercenaries of followers in Diablo Immortal, you can still have some help, even if you're playing solo. While doing main story quests, you'll often have some help from temporary followers. They will fight by your side, usually during boss fights, and leave you afterward. Their role is to help you, especially at the begging of the game, when you're not that strong yet.

Why aren't there followers and mercenaries in Diablo Immortal?

There is an important reason why Diablo Immortal doesn't have followers and mercenaries in Diablo Immortal. As this is a massively multiplayer online game, emphasis is on co-op experience and communication with other players. Why would you need to hire some bots when you can play Diablo Immortal with friends?

You won't have problems finding people to play with. There are several ways to play with other players:

  • Warband—you can join or create Warband, which is an 8-player raiding party.
  • Clan—as in every game, clans are the place to go if you like company. That is especially important for Diablo Immortal endgame play.
  • Play with your friends—ask friends with whom you're connected via Battle.net account to play together.
  • Other players—many players are looking for some help for dungeon crawling. Join them, or invite them to a party.

You'll never be alone in this MMO with so many players, and that is why there are no followers or mercenaries in Diablo Immortal.
