How to find the best planets in No Man’s Sky

There are a few planets that you should focus on.

No Man's Sky makes this process of figuring out what planets are worth landing on fairly easy for players to understand—it classifies each star in a given system with a letter. Look at the stars you want to go to and see their Spectral or Star class, which indicates how hot the star is.

What Star classes are the best in No Man's Sky?

The planets in star Classes O and B are the best planets in No Man's Sky. They are worth stopping at every time because they have the rarest resources, including Activated Cadmium, Activated Copper, Activated Emeril, Activated Indium, Chlorine, Ionized Cobalt, and Pugneum. These sell for several units, even at outlaw stations, and you won't regret stopping at a Class O or B planet to obtain them. The Warp Reactor Theta upgrade is required to access a Class O or B planet.

What do Star classes mean in No Man's Sky?

Star classes are essentially a way of judging the resource reliability of planets orbiting those stars. The classes indicate the temperature of the star itself, which affects the planets. For example, the classes below are the ones you want to go to.

Class E Planets

You can find grand forests, alien animals, and many resources on Class E planets. Even though they aren't the best, they are still worth stopping at if you're farming for resources. You will need a Warp Reactor Tau upgrade to reach Class E planets.

Class K and M

Class K and M are the next tier on the star classes. These stars have average planets, and they are the lowest-class planet you want to visit. It requires the hyperdrive upgrade Warp Reactor Sigma. Anything below K and M isn't worth your time.

What star classes are the worst in No Man's Sky?

Planets in star classes G and F are resource-poor. You can find these with your basic hyperdrive, so it's not surprising that they wouldn't have the cream of the crop in terms of resources. Nevertheless, there is always a chance you will stumble upon something worthwhile here since planets are so randomized.
