Bonds have a huge impact on how you go about your journey, and the experience is no different in Persona 5. Persona 5 Royal has also added phone calls, gifts, and other mechanics not available in the first release of the game, too, giving players more opportunities to raise affinities given the addition of Kasumi and other new characters.
Tae Takemi, your Death Confidant, is one of the more challenging ones to grow closer with. However, you’ll find that she likes certain things, desires hearing certain answers, and is overall a much easier person to please than, let's say, Maruki. Here’s a spoiler-free guide to steer you toward the correct path.
How to unlock Takemi’s Confidant events
You can unlock the Death Confidant as early as 4/18. Visit Takemi in her clinic in Yogen-Jaya and ask for her special medicine. Takemi will always be in her clinic for a hangout during the day. On rainy days, she’s also there at night.
Can I date Tae Takemi in Persona 5 Royal?
If you’re into patient-doctor relationships, then here’s some good news: you can date Takemi in Persona 5 Royal. Build her Confidant Rank to 9 and choose to pursue a relationship. You don’t get any special boosts when you date any character, but events are more unique down the line.
What happens if you romance someone in Persona 5 Royal?
Partners can be taken on dates. You’ll also get access to unique cutscenes during special days (such as Valentines). Who you chose as your partner (or partners) won’t affect the bonuses you get on Rank max. You can date more than one woman at a time (including Takemi) but prepare to face the consequences of your actions. Don’t worry—it's only dialogue-related!
All Death Confidant answers in Persona 5 Royal
Much of Takemi’s dialogue requires you to be blunt, honest, and sometimes a little playful. Later on, she’ll need your constant support. Many of your responses won’t add any affinity points, so getting the best answer on the questions that do add them is essential.
Important Tip: Have at least one Death persona in your team when you meet with Yusuke. Having a persona of your confidant’s arcana raises the number of affinity points you can earn with one of your responses.

How to raise Takemi’s Confidant rank faster
Do note that while responding correctly does raise your links faster, it doesn’t guarantee that you’ll unlock the next Rank event immediately. You still need to visit Takemi during free times as often as you can.
