All Cloyster weaknesses and Best Counters in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

That's a cold hard wall.

Cloyster is one of the original 151, evolving from Shellder, and also appears in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet's Paldea region. While this Pokémon has certainly seen its days, many new trainers may be unfamiliar with this defensive wall. This may leave you wondering what Cloyster is weak against and what the best counters are in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

How to counter Cloyster in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

Cloyster's amazing defense means you will need to face it with a special attacker. It is surprisingly fast and can deal a good amount of damage, especially with its Skill Link ability. Cloyster also learns a good variety of coverage moves, making it even more difficult to deal with.

We recommend a strong special attacker that is Electric or Fighting-type. We recommend Lucario, Jolteon, or Eelektross. Lucario and Jolteon can outspeed Cloyster and take it out quickly, though they do need to be careful of Drill Run if it survives. Eelektross isn't faster than Cloyster, but its levitate ability makes it immune to Ground-type attacks.
