Requirements to upgrade Gear permanently in Forspoken
The requirements for each increased stat differ slightly in Forspoken. However, this depends on whether you are improving Health and Defense or Magic, as different resources are needed for both.
- Health/Defense requires the use of stones, then Breakstones.
- Magic requires plants/flowers, then Breakstones.

What spells do I need to upgrade my stats in Forspoken?
To upgrade your stats to the max in Forspoken, you need a selection of spells from most of the magic trees you get on your journey through Athia. However, your two pieces of gear, the Hooded Cloak and Necklace, both have stats you can increase without getting any spells.
- Hooded Cloak, you can increase health to a point, but not any magic.
- Necklace, you can increase Magic to a point, but not any health.
If you add spells into the mix, you can increase your stats further, and it even allows you to increase stats on a gear that was once locked off.
- Fortify
- By spending Mana on this spell in the Blue magic tree. You can increase Frey's Defense on the Hooded Cloak and Necklace to 30.
- Vivify
- By getting the spell in Frey's Purple magic tree. You unlock the ability to increase your health stat on Necklaces, and it increases the cap to 100.
- Amplify
- By unlocking the Amplify spell in the Red magic tree. You get the ability to increase all your magic stats on your Hooded Cloak up to 100.
