How to beat the Omega Pirate in Metroid Prime Remastered

Come with missles; lots of them.

The Phazon Mines is home to every type of Space Pirate in Metroid Prime Remastered: multicolored Space Pirates, Elite Pirates, etc. None are more annoying than the Omega Pirate, though, which serves as the boss for the Phazon Mines. This enemy can summon other Space Pirates and shred Samus's health bar very quickly, but there are a couple of strategies that make this boss a lot less troublesome.

How can Samus damage the Omega Pirate in Metroid Prime Remastered?

There are essentially two phases of the Omega Pirate fight in Metroid Prime Remastered; when the Omega Pirate is visible and when it is cloaked. The Omega Pirate will only go invisible once the blue spheres on its body are shot off (two on its shoulders and two on its legs). However, these spheres can be difficult to shoot off since the Omega Pirate has the same beam absorption technique that the Elite Pirates had.

The best way to go about this phase of the fight is to charge a Plasma Beam and wait for the Omega Pirate to stomp the ground to use its wave attack. Space Jump over the wave and wait for the Omega Pirate to stand upright again to make sure the Plasma Beam connects. Samus can also use a Power Bomb to quickly take out the two spheres on its legs. Shoot off each blue sphere to make the Omega Pirate go invisible.

This is arguably the more important part of the fight. The Omega Pirate will go to one of the three Phazon pools to try and regenerate itself. At the same, it will summon some of the multicolored Space Pirates for Samus to fight.

Oddly, the best thing for players to do here is to ignore the Space Pirates. If the Omega Pirate regenerates, all of Samus's work disappears. Instead, players will want to use their X-Ray visor to find the Omega Pirate and fire off a Super Missile. When this happens, the Omega Pirate will go into a hurt animation, giving players a couple of seconds to clear out the other Space Pirates.

After two Super Missiles, the Omega Pirate will automatically regenerate and reset the initial phase of the fight. Shoot off the spheres again and hit the Omega Pirate with two more Super Missiles when it goes invisible. That should be enough to put the Omega Pirate to rest in less than five minutes.
