How to use GPS locators in Sons of the Forest

In Sons of the Forest, you must explore the map to gather numerous materials and resources that will help you survive the wilderness. While exploring, you'll come across various items and equipment that can be used for different purposes. The GPS locator is one of these items, and you'll find them easily in the game. However, using these locators can be tricky, and you need to know how to utilize this equipment to move cleverly around the map. Here's how to use GPS locators in Sons of the Forest.

How to place the GPS locator in Sons of the Forest

The GPS locator is an equipment that can be used to mark different points on the map. For instance, if you have visited a map marker area but couldn't find the hidden item at this spot, then it's best to place a GPS locator there so that you can return to this spot easily next time. However, you cannot place the GPS locator on the ground. Instead, you need to plant a stick in the ground and equip the GPS locator on top of it. Check the slideshow above to see how it is done.

To plant a stick on the ground, open your inventory, equip the stick in your hand, and aim at the ground. You'll see a small dotted white circle on the ground near the spot you want to plant the stick. After placing the stick, open your inventory once again, and get a GPS locator from the red container in the top-left corner. Now, simply stand in front of the planted stick, and equip the GPS locator with the color symbol of your choice.

The GPS locator also has different colored symbols you can choose from, and this helps as you can place various markers around the map. This equipment also allows you to mark territories and caves you have covered previously so that you can continue venturing into new areas.
