While every character has a laundry list of abilities to acquire in Octopath Traveler 2, the support skills can often be more powerful than any other skill they learn, save maybe Latent Powers. Support skills can flat out raise stats by 50, as well as issue huge effects that can change the course of battle.
Which support skills should players equip their characters with in Octopath Traveler 2?
Hikari
As one of the strongest offensive carries in Octopath Traveler 2, Hikari definitely wants Summon Strength, which raises Hikari's physical attack by 50. When combined with a strong weapon, Hikari's physical attack can go through the roof. Latent Power Plus is also very strong on Hikari, since Shadow Hold deals so much damage.
Agnea
The Ever Evasive support skill can make Agnea into a semi reliable dodge tank. She won't dodge every hit, but at times she will just need to dodge one or two hits to get her job done. Hard Worker, which gives her extra JP after battles, is also very useful for giving Agnea access to her skills early.
Partitio
Full Power is such a valuable skill, every character should want it. This skill completely raises the Latent Power gauge at the start of a new battle. Grows on Trees is also particularly useful, since more money means more access to expensive weapons and the like. Boost Start is another great skill that can help Partitio break enemies quickly.

Castti
Although Castti doesn't have great offensive coverage, she still benefits from Inspiring Break since when she does break, it would be great to have her SP replenished. Hale and Hearty is the other standout support skill on Castti, making her a very durable tank.
Ochette
More Rare Monsters might be the best skill for Ochette since it only gives her more powerful enemies to capture. She can really help destroy bosses with the right set of monsters by her side. Ochette also benefits from Heightened Sense. This gives her a likelihood of attacking first, which can give her a chance to break enemies before they attack.
Throne
Almost all of the skills which raise a character's stats is worth it, as is the case with Fleetfoot, which raises the holder's speed by 50. This synergizes well with Surprise Attack, which deals more damage based on speed of the user. Life in the Shadows can also give Throne extra JP and EXP after battles during the night.

Temenos
Inner Strength is a phenomenal skill on Temenos, giving him access to more SP and, therefore, more damage and healing. Surprisingly, Evil Ward has some use on Temenos as well. This skill increases the party's chance of fleeing, which comes in handy when the party is weak and can't get to a Tavern in time. Of course, the player can always teleport to a Tavern they've already been too, but this can mean lots of backtracking if the player has made lots of progress in a given area.
Osvald
Just about every support skill Osvald gets is great. His elemental damage output can get to crazy levels with Elemental Augmentation (increases Elemental Attack by 50) and Extra Experience (can let him level up quickly). Evasive Maneuvers can come in handy when trying to avoid encounters, and Advanced Magic Master lets him use an extra high intensity spell. Players can't go wrong by just equipping every support skill Osvald gets.
