Does Zelda die in The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom?

There is no official confirmation, but certain evidence supports the idea that Zelda will die in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Keep in mind this is all speculation, and take this with a grain of salt. Here is why we think Zelda dies in Tears of the Kingdom.

The most obvious answer is in the trailer, where Zelda is falling into a dark abyss, and Link reaches out to save her. We do not see the conclusion of this scene; however, we see what may be the aftermath. Link's arm, the one reaching for Zelda, appears scarred and damaged, leading us to believe he was injured trying to save Zelda and the Princess of Hyrule did not make it.

Throughout another trailer, the times we see Zelda or hear her speak, she is encompassed with a golden glow. This could mean that she is now dead and guiding Link from beyond. She also speaks to another power, asking them to give Link the power to save Hyrule after the villain strikes.

These are just our thoughts, but other fans have compelling theories about Zelda's death. u/Spheromancer shared their thoughts on the Tears of the Kingdom subreddit. Other fans have numerous theories too, feel free to browse them on the subreddit or avoid them to not spoil yourself. But remember, anything you see is speculation until confirmed by Nintendo.
