Destiny 2 Checkpoint Bot guide

No time? No problem.

As a Destiny 2 player myself, I completely understand the dilemma of wanting certain Raid loot but not having the time to commit to a full-on run-through. But this is where the Checkpoint Bot can help, loading you into a Raid or dungeon at a specific checkpoint so you can skip to the end and save a ton of time. Here's everything you need to know about the Destiny 2 Checkpoint Bot.

How to use Destiny 2 Checkpoint Bot

To use the Destiny 2 Checkpoint Bot, you first need to visit the D2Checkpoint website and find the activity you want to run, whether it be King's Fall, Vault of Glass, or Last Wish, to name a handful.

Then follow the below steps:

  1. Under each current instance, you'll notice a code. Copy or write down the one for the instance you want to join (i.e. CheckpointBot#0000).
  2. Load Destiny 2 on your platform of choice and open the chat box while in Orbit. To do this, it's Enter on PC or right on the D-Pad on PlayStation and Xbox.
  3. Click into the chat box and type /join and then paste or write in the code (ie. /CheckpointBot#0000) to load into the Fireteam.
  4. This is important, but once loaded into the activity, do not complete it. The aim here is for everyone to die so that you all wipe. Doing so will save the checkpoint for you.
  5. Once you've completely wiped once, that's it. You can go ahead and leave the activity and the Fireteam and return to Orbit.

The entire process took around two minutes for me to do, so it was very quick. Now, once you load into the Raid or dungeon with your squad, you should begin at the checkpoint. In my case, it was Oryx in the King's Fall Raid.

What is the Destiny 2 Checkpoint Bot?

The Destiny 2 Checkpoint Bot is a third-party tool set up by fellow Guardians that allows you to join a Raid or dungeon and save at a specific checkpoint so that when you load into the activity with your own Fireteam, it puts you there and saves you a ton of time.

This is great if you or someone else in your squad doesn't have two or three hours to spare to run an entire Raid or dungeon or if you just want to farm for an Exotic. My Raid squad tried and failed to get through King's Fall a few days ago after attempting for eight hours straight, so I may be trying this out next time!
