Street Fighter 6 releases June 2, but you can get an early look at the action by playing in the open beta weekend beginning May 19. Here's how to make it happen.
How to download Street Fighter 6 open beta
The open beta is available on Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC via Steam, so every player has a chance to get in on the action. To get signed up, players are encouraged to create a Capcom ID and link it to their preferred platform, all of which can be done on Capcom's website. The developers say this is a way to circumvent the need for having Xbox Live Gold or PlayStation Plus.

Once that's done, players have to head over to their respective storefront and download the beta. If all of the steps are done correctly and Capcom grants access, it's smooth sailing from there. Steam was able to grant me instant access to the beta, so it should work the same on both Xbox and PlayStation.
What's playable in the Street Fighter 6 open beta?
Street Fighter 6's open beta gives players a lot of freedom to see what's coming in the game, but don't expect to play on all of the stages or use all of the characters. Capcom has made the following characters available in the beta:
- Luke
- Jamie
- Ryu
- Chun-Li
- Guile
- Kimberly
- Juri
- Ken
You will be able to create a character in the open beta, but don't expect to use them, as you'll be locked to just playing as those above characters. The beta runs over the weekend before the official launch in June, but this should be more than enough time to figure out if it's a game worth picking up for yourself or not.
