Patches are an inevitable part of any game, and Honkai: Star Rail is much the same. In fact, based on what I’ve seen in teasers, community posts, and leaks, expect the game to release a new version every couple of weeks—with added banners, areas, and the occasional character buff/nerf.
What is in Honkai Star Rail patch update 1.2?
Patch notes are tricky to read, so I’ll summarize all the important points. Below are all the new things added to Honkai: Star Rail as of Version 1.2.
New explorable areas (with maps)
New characters
- Blade (5*, The Destruction, Wind)
- Skill: Consumes HP Blade's Max HP to enter Hellscape. When Hellscape is active, increases his DMG output and enhances his Basic ATK for three turns. Using this skill does not consume a turn.
- Ultimate: Cuts Blade's HP to deal massive single-target DMG.
- Talent: Blade's ATK is increased every time his HP is lowered.
- Kafka (5*, The Nihility, Lightning)
- Skill: Deals DMG to a target enemy, as well as a weaker attack to enemies adjacent to it.
- Ultimate: Deals AoE Lightning DMG, with a 100% base chance to Shock enemies. They immediately take DMG equal to 80% of the DoT.
- Talent: After an ally uses Basic ATK on an enemy, Kafka immediately launches one follow-up attack and deals Lightning DMG to that enemy. There is a chance of increasing any DoT inflicted for two turns.
- Luka (4*, The Nihility, Physical)
- Skill: Deals Physical DMG to a target enemy. There is also a 100% base chance of causing the target to Bleed for three turns. While Bleeding, at the start of each turn, the enemy will take 16% of their HP as Physical DoT.
- Ultimate: Deals Physical DMG to a target and increase the DMG they can receive for several turns. Receives stacks of Fighting Spirit.
- Talent: After he uses his Basic ATK or Skill, he receives one stack of Fighting Spirit (up to four stacks). When Luka has two or more stacks of Fighting Will, his Basic ATK is enhanced, which allows him to deal more DMG to bleeding enemies.
New Light Cones
- The Unreachable Side (5*, The Destruction): Increase the CRIT Rate and Max HP by 18% (base). After the wearer is attacked or consumes their own HP, increases their DMG output by 24%. This effect is dispelled after the user attacks.
- Patience Is All You Need (5*, The Nihility): The wearer deals 16% more DMG to enemies inflicted with DoT. Their SPD is increased for every attack, up to five times. Any enemy that receives their attacks also takes 20% more DoT for one turn.

At the start of each Cycle, deals a set amount of DMG to all enemies based on the highest Memory Imprint stack possessed by an ally.
