Soul Calibur 6 is an ever-popular installment in the Soul Calibur series, a fighting game franchise well-known for its use of weapons during combat. I always liked Soul Calibur's colorful and unique character designs, preferring to disregard its vague and occasionally campy storyline. That being said, the uniqueness of the characters also means that their fighting styles and usefulness in a match can vary greatly. As a result, not every fighter is made equal, and some inevitably work better than others. Let's find out how they all compare in a list we made.

All Best Characters in Soul Calibur 6, ranked
We composed the following list based on the overall qualities of fighters, their ease of use, and how they rank overall compared to one another. Just like we did in the SF6 Tier List, we tried encompassing each character's main qualities, such as the versatility of their move sets and how well their combos perform, and pitting it against their weaknesses.

Nightmare
Nightmare is Siegfried's evil form, corrupted by the dark magic of the Soul Edge, which buffed his fighting prowess immensely. He works best if you utilize him from a distance because he has an incredible range provided to him by his weapon. His Night Terror Charge ability can boost his already imposing damage, transforming him into a real powerhouse.
Seong Mi-na
Seong Mi-na is my favorite character in Soul Calibur 6 and my main. She is the most well-rounded character in the entire game. Being easy to learn, she's perfect for beginners but doesn't fall off in higher leagues due to the simplicity of her moves and combos. Mi-na is favored among mid-range players, packing excellent poke attacks and deadly combos that are difficult to stop.
Best A Tier Characters in Soul Calibur 6
Cassandra
Being the sister of Sophitia, she shares a rather dramatic backstory with her sister. She is a very offense-oriented character, distinguished by her Divine Force special meter mode that boosts her moves when fully charged. Dealing pressure to opponents is the name of her game, but players must be careful not to lose their initiative when playing her.
Tira
Tira is another interesting and quirky character, defined by the different states she can move into. Her Jolly State or Gloomy State dictates her fighting style, the former being more movement-oriented and the latter concentrating on dealing damage. Such a toolkit will always keep her enemies on their toes because she can change them on a whim. Furthermore, after a certain number of style changes, she can even enter her ultimate Gloomy Coda state for boosted damage output.
Best B Tier Characters in Soul Calibur 6
Yoshimitsu
Over different iterations of Soul Calibur, I lost count of how many times I impaled myself on a Katana while randomly button-mashing as Yoshimitsu. He is the franchise's staple character that has seen more changes in design than any other, but his core remains the same. As Soul Caliber's most technical character, he has complex move sets that are rather difficult to master. In theory, Yoshimitsu would be worth it if he didn't have one glaring flaw: his range and his inability to effectively close that gap. Because of that, he will almost always be outperformed by longer-range characters.
Siegfried
Siegfried is a complex and underperforming character to play. His moves are best suited for mid to long-range action, but his attacks suffer from being slow to perform, leaving him wide open to retaliation.

2B
2B is the cyborg in Soul Calibur 6. Sporting an offensive toolkit, she is all about putting pressure on her opponents; the only area she falls short in is defense. If you lose momentum for even a moment, she will quickly fall apart because she is unable to mount an effective defense.
Hilde
Hilde is a versatile both close and long-range fighter, distinguished by her two fighting styles with her lance and sword. Her Regalia mechanic grants her specific moves when certain conditions are met. However, her stances don't complement her very well, leaving her with a gap in defense from medium-range fighters.
