How to Pick a House for Ako and Villagers in Sengoku Dynasty

Make your house into a home for Ako!

As you carve out your village in Sengoku Dynasty, you'll need to craft items and micromanage your resources quite a bit. One of the first tasks you'll need to complete in the game is assigning a house for Ako. Thankfully, this is a useful skill that you'll need for other villagers that you recruit. But first, you need to build a house!

In Sengoku Village, Ako is the first Villager that you recruit. You must get them situated in the Village and pick out a home for them. But before you do that, make sure you have a spare house built! After that, go to the Dynasty tab in the same area where you access the Map and Inventory.

Look for Population in the Dynasty menu. There, you will see yourself and Ako listed (along with other recruited Villagers). Choose Ako's name, select the Home icon, and use one of the homes listed. If you see that the home's bed is unoccupied, you'll know it can be assigned. Click on the open bed and confirm the assignment. Ako will live there from now on!

You can repeat this process with all new Villagers. Under the Population tab, you can access villager profiles. If their profile says Homeless, you'll know that they still need a home assigned to them.

How to Assign Yourself a Home in Sengoku Dynasty

Though it may seem redundant, assigning yourself a Home is necessary in Sengoku Dynasty. This is because you can move homes over time in your gameplay and even assign your old home to a Villager. You'll use the Dynasty tab and assign a home to yourself the same way you did Ako and Other villagers, by clicking on your name and home status.

If you want to build a house in Sengoku Dynasty, you first need to make sure you have a hammer. Once you do, equip the hammer and choose to build with it. Choose Buildings, then Housing, and select which type of house you want to build. From there, choose a suitable location and swing your hammer to set it in place.

Houses and other buildings are built piece by piece in Sengoku Dynasty, meaning you'll have to build the foundation, the walls, and more. This takes up a lot of energy and time, so don't worry if you need to sleep/rest and come back. The building will still be there, but you may have trouble spotting it unless your hammer is equipped.

What do you need to build a house?

What you need to build a house will vary by house type, but the basic option (Small House) doesn't require too many materials; you'll need to make sure you have plenty of sticks, planks, and logs. Items like straw and stones may be necessary for different parts. Each step of the way during building, you'll be told what supplies you need. There's no time limit on building, so don't worry about gathering everything beforehand.
