One of my favorite features of Sea of Stars is its entertaining and unique puzzles. More challenging puzzles can be found within the mysterious Solstice Shrines around the world, and usually reward you with some worthwhile relics and accessories for your characters. The first Solstice Shrine on Evermist Island may be confusing with its movable blocks, but we have all the steps you'll need to know to solve it!
How to solve the Evermist Solstice Shrine Puzzle in Sea of Stars
You'll be able to enter the Evermist Solstice Shrine after establishing your own Town of Mirth, where the Headmaster will give you the key. Navigating back there was a little bit of a headache, since you'll have to travel all the way through Sleeper Island again to get thrown by the ancient statue back to Evermist.
Head all the way back down the Mountain Path, and you'll see the shrine on the right side with the purple door. Once you're there, you can use your key to unlock the door using the Evermist Shrine Key. Inside the Shrine, you'll see a square floor of tiles outlined in glowing blue glyphs and with three movable blocks. One of the blocks is a special purple color.
The wall ahead of the floor will reveal the path that you'll need to move the purple block through the board using your pushing ability with X or Square. You'll need to use the other two blocks to help you keep it on the right tiles along the path. Here's a step-by-step on how to get there (flip through the images shown below for each step):
- The first step is to push the purple block forward one space out of the outer ring. You'll need to line up the other blocks right behind it so it doesn't slide all the way forward. Push both the blocks up to the top right corner and down so they're against the purple block, then move the block directly touching the purple block over to the left. Now, you can simply push the purple block up to the first tile.
- Now, push the purple block one more space forward. Push the first block in the bottom left corner all the way up and around again to the right top right corner and down against the other regular block. Then, move the second block, directly touching the purple block, to the left and out of the way. Push the purple block up once. (I accidentally moved my second block up again after pushing it to the left, but you'll want it to stay where it is, in the yellow circle shown in the image above, so it's easier for your third step.)
- Your third step should be pretty easy as long as you have your block already positioned on the far left side. All you have to do is push your purple block over two spaces to the left, and it should touch up against your regular block. You should also be able to see the tiles start lighting up on the path you've created so far. This means you're doing it correctly.
- Now, you're gonna need your purple block to go up one more space. To do this, you'll need to position one of your regular blocks above it at the very top. This should be fairly easy; just move the first block, currently touching the purple block, to the top left corner. Then, navigate your second block to the top right corner and push it all the way over to the left until it's touching the other regular block, two spaces up from your purple block. Now, you can push your purple block up one space.
- You're almost there, but now you need your purple block to move one over to the right. Move your first block, directly above and touching your purple block, to the top right corner. Then move your second block, which should currently be in the top left corner, all the way down and around to the bottom left corner and then up so it's touching your other regular block. Now you can push your purple block over one to the right.
- The last step should be super easy, as long as you keep your regular blocks in the top right corner and directly to the right of your purple block. All you need to do is push the purple block up twice into the final tile in the outer ring.
Once your purple block reaches the final tile, you will complete the puzzle, and a giant chest will be revealed to you. Inside, you'll find a special new combo move for Valere and Zale called Soonrang, which is a combination of Valere's Moonrang and Zale's Sun ability. Plus, you'll also notice that one of the lights on the strange carved wall has gone out, indicating that you'll need to complete other Solstice Shrines like this to fully unlock it. Now you're officially one step closer to uncovering the hidden secrets!
