Armored Core 6 Balteus Boss Guide

Apart from the fight against AH12 Helicopter, Chapter 1 also features another challenging battle against the Balteus boss. Like the first fight, it is a brutal brawler as you won't have the best of the gears during this chapter. Still, you can overcome Balteus if you equip something like HI-16: GU-Q1 Pulse Gun or VP-60LCS in your loadout.

How to beat PCA SP Autonomous Craft Balteus in Armored Core 6

Loadout

To eliminate Balteus, we are going for a tanky build with a Pulse Weapon and Gatting gun, as it dishes out quite a lot of damage.

• R- Arm Unit:  HI-16: GU-Q1 Pulse Gun
• L- Arm Unit: HI-32: BU-TT/A or MG-014 LUDLOW
• R- Back Unit: VP-60LCS
• L- Back Unit: BML-G1/P03VTC-08 or BML-G1/P20MLT-04

Both of the weapons are pretty solid in terms of damage and will easily do the job. If you don't have BML-G1/P03VTC-08, swap it with something like BML-G1/P20MLT-04 in your Assembly. I highly recommend you use anything made by the TIAN-QIANG for the armor set.

Attack Strategy 

The best way to eliminate Balteus is by damaging and removing his pulse armor/shield. For this reason, we are equipping the HI-16: GU-Q1 Pulse Gun in your loadout. Pulse guns are effective against pulse shields as they deplete the armor bar quickly.

Also, maintain distance from Balteus and roam around the central part of the fighting arena. If you keep doing this, you can connect your HI-16: GU-Q1 Pulse Gun shots without getting hit. 

When the pulse gun is on cooldown, use the MG-014 LUDLOW Gattling gun or HI-32: BU-TT/A  sword to continue your barrage. Keep tracking the shield health of the aircraft, which is right above the health bar.

Once the shield is down, fill the stagger meter by further attacking and finally punishing by unloading everything at your disposal when he is immobile. Keep repeating this process of removing the bubble shield, building up the stagger bar, and unloading all weapons till the end of the fight.

Defense Strategy

For the entire duration of the fight, maintain distance from Balteus. Do not go near him in any scenario, or you will be severely injured by his AOE and missile-type attacks. Staying afar also helps you dodge Balteus attacks, as they tend to spread out when you stand near the middle of the map. 

Though standing near the center will help you to evade AOE-type attacks, you must move and reposition to evade rocket barrages. So, hold down your directional key and use Evasive Aerial Maneuver when possible. 

That's pretty much it for defense. Keep all the advice above in mind and you will eliminate Balteus in no time.
