Best Trait for each Archetype in Remnant 2

Traits maketh man.

Figuring out the right trait to add to a build can be a head-scratcher in Remnant 2. While some traits are custom-made for certain archetypes, others seem to fit on any character with any build. Instead of trying to keep track of which traits are the best, it might be better for players to see which traits work best by archetype to see how they can synergize with each other.

Which Traits work best with each Archetype in Remnant 2?

Challenger

The Challengers in Remnant 2 can all use Vigor. This trait gives an extra 30% max health to the user. The typical Challenger playstyle involves being in the fray and taking some damage. Vigor can keep Challenger living longer, giving it more uptime and, therefore, more opportunities to do damage.

Handler

Handler is yet another archetype that does well with Vigor. From a team perspective, Handler should always be the last to die. The longer Handler stays alive, the longer Companion will be able to resurrect teammates. Therefore, Vigor gives Handler a little extra health to stay alive with.

Hunter

Hunter is a great user of Expertise. This is because marking enemies is extremely powerful. Expertise lowers the cooldown on abilities, which means a Hunter could mark enemies much more often. I've also found that, since Hunters like to play from range, they want defensive traits like Vigor or Fortify less.

Medic

Triage is one of those traits that seem tailor-made for the archetype that it comes with. By increasing the weapon's ideal range, Medics can heal targets much farther away. This is basically mandatory to be a strong Medic for the team.

Alchemist

Alchemist also already comes with a great skill in Potency. The main job of the Alchemist is to support the team with concoctions, so the best thing for it would be to lengthen the duration of those concoctions for much longer.

Archon

The Archon is the one archetype in the game that really focuses on Mod usage. Therefore, it's only natural that it benefits from Spirit, which gives increased Mod generation. While there are other builds that use Mods a lot, Archon is the only archetype that is guaranteed to revolve around Mod usage.

Engineer

With Fortify, Engineer becomes a fearsome tank. Fortify increases armor effectiveness up to 50% with the trait maxed out. The Engineer archetype is best for using strong armor, so with Fortify, it becomes the best damage tanker in the entire game.

Explorer

Explorer does well with Swiftness since it synergizes with the Plainswalker ability, which increases movement speed and Stamina for the entire team. Explorer doesn't really have the tools to combat up-close, so often, its best option is to run away. With Swiftness, which increases movement speed, Explorer should be able to evade any sticky situation.

Gunslinger

This shouldn't surprise too many gamers, but Gunslinger does really well with Ammo Reserves. Gunslingers don't want to feel like they need to conserve their shots; this usually makes them a little scared to shoot. With Ammo Reserves giving extra ammunition, Gunslingers can take those extra shots, which hopefully take out some enemies with good aim.

Invader

With Swiftness, Invader can be one of the toughest archetypes to kill inside the whole game. Invaders can already place decoys around the map while teleporting around. Swiftness gives Invader an extra 15% movement speed when maxed out, so it basically makes Invader play incredibly annoyingly with perfect dodges and quick escapes.

Summoner

Since the Summoner can create minions that cause chaos on the battlefield, it's arguably the best user of Kinship. This trait reduces friendly fire damage for the user and their teammates. Due to the higher number of bodies on the map with Summoner, it can be easy to accidentally shoot a teammate. Kinship makes these occasional accidents less annoying.
