Monsieur Neuvillette is the Chief Justice of the Court of Fontaine, the Dragon Sovereign of Water, second-in-command and babysitter to the Hydro Archon, Furina, and an avid water-taster who relishes in the taste of water from all over Teyvat. Beyond all his incredible accomplishments, he's also a playable five-star Hydro catalyst user with an incredibly fun playstyle that I absolutely love. If you're unsure about whether to spend or save in this qualified husbando's banner, here are some considerations to make.
Is Neuvillette worth pulling for in Genshin Impact?
Neuvillette is a Pneuma-aligned Hydro main DPS whose damage output is primarily centered around his Charged Attack. By holding his Charged Attack, he unleashes a massive laser (think Kamehameha or Hydro Pump) that deals continuous Hydro Damage. Despite being a DPS unit, Neuvillette's kit scales off HP, and he has both HP-draining and self-healing mechanics common among Fontaine characters.
This quirk isn't anything to worry about—Neuvillette has very good self-sustain, as long as you time his rotation correctly.
Speaking of timing, it's pertinent to cast his Elemental Skill and Burst first to generate enough water droplets, which will significantly decrease the charging time for his Charged Attack. Without water droplets, it takes a painful four seconds to charge his Charged Attack.

Being a Hydro unit has its perks: Neuvillette is easy to slot into a ton of teams, given the massive array of sub-DPS and support characters who could help him generate Reactions. However, he demands on-field time, so he's not a good option if you prefer quickswap teams. Additionally, Neuvillette is prone to interruption while casting his Charged Attack. I find it absolutely necessary to have a shielder for interruption resistance.
Beyond his kit, Neuvillette is an extremely fun character to play because his Hydro cannon is unlike anything else in the game (save for the Hydro Traveler's tamed-down water bubble). I highly recommend pulling for him if you enjoy his design and playstyle, tend to lean toward Hydro Reaction teams, or need a main DPS in your roster. He doesn't require a massive investment to build and pairs well with four-star weapon options, so even free-to-players can enjoy him at C0.
However, if you don't like selfish DPS units that take up a lot of on-field time, find his rotations cumbersome to follow through, don't like running shielders in the team, or aren't a fan of his majestic husbando energy, then perhaps skip Neuvillette and wait for the next banner.
