You've heard all about Silent Hope's release and dungeon mechanics, but now it's time to hop into the world and decide which character you like best. There are seven playable characters to choose from, each in different classes and equipped with their own unique abilities. You can only play one at a time, but don't worry; you'll also be able to switch to other characters whenever you want. Keep reading below for all the details!
Best Silent Hope Characters, Ranked
Deciding on the best character in Silent Hope is entirely up to each individual's personal preference and playstyle. Some players might enjoy heavy, high-damaging attacks rather than speedy, multiple-hit attacks. Each character in the game is proficient in different areas and can excel when given the right gear and skills. However, we've put together a tentative ranking of what characters we believe perform the best right off the bat:
Caster
Caster's abilities are what really make him stand out from the rest. Although he doesn't perform melee attacks, his magic can hit enemies from a safe distance, pushing them back from him as needed or even pulling them into a vortex altogether so he can damage them all at once. His attacks can be speedy or throw down huge AoEs, not to mention their diverse elements, which is why Caster makes the top of the list.
Warrior
Warrior is another character who seems to shine from the rest with her high-damaging attacks and wide-reach sword. Despite being a bit slower with her attacks, she makes up for it with just how powerful each one can be. She can also charge at the enemies with knockback, keeping large groups at bay when she's feeling overwhelmed.
Wanderer
Wanderer makes it higher up on our best character link simply due to the fact he is a well-rounded character. He has the perfect balance of offense and defense, using his shield to block some incoming damage and slashing at enemies with one-handed swords that allow for medium speed and DPS. He makes for a great starter character but will be outshined by characters with more noteworthy skills, like Caster and Warrior.
Rogue
If you prefer a speedier approach to battles, Rogue might be a better choice for you. She is great at stringing swift attacks together with her dual blades and specializes in weakening enemies to take them out more quickly. She doesn't quite have the power that Warrior or Wanderer might have, but she definitely outranks them in speed. Plus, she can slash through two enemies or more with her special dash ability and send out an AoE attack that hits everyone around her.
Farmer
Farmer isn't your average character in an RPG game, but she does have some noteworthy skills. She utilizes pitchforks and abilities that confuse the enemies around her, dazing and stunning them and buffing her strength and stability. She is more of a defensive character, but she can stand her own.

Archer
I love playing archers in RPGs due to their long-ranged attacks, allowing them to take out enemies without even the risk of returning damage. Silent Hope's Archer is great at doing just that, and shines even more by placing down traps to prevent incoming damage. However, he just doesn't have the power and finesse that some of the characters have, especially when enemies are up close and personal, which is why he sits just a bit lower on the list.
Fighter
Fighter is proficient at hand-to-hand combat and is great at performing fast, aggressive attacks. If you don't mind focusing on one enemy at a time, she can take them out rather efficiently, but she lacks the AoE focus that some other characters do and just doesn't have the same powerful hits. She makes the end of the list due to the fact that her attacks are pretty mid and less interesting than the rest.
How to switch characters in Silent Hope
You can switch between characters at any time when interacting with Tear Crystals in the Abyss. This is particularly useful when your character is low on HP or you simply want to try out other abilities.
Interacting with the crystals will allow you to cycle through the character list and select the one you want to switch to, keeping any buffs you had active. Once you use the crystal, it will be destroyed, and you will have to wait to come across another one to switch again.
You can switch things up as you like, trying out each character and deciding for yourself who you think is the best of the best and finding a playstyle that really suits you. It doesn't hurt to give each character a chance to shine, leveling them up and equipping them with some better gear.
