The Total War: Pharoah contains eight playable factions from three cultures: Egyptians, Hittites, and Canaanites. Each culture has leaders that offer different playing styles, starting bonuses, special units, and affinities regarding how to approach diplomacy, economy, and war.

Choosing the right faction/leader is essential for your playstyle as some are more offensive, defensive, or have a better economy. Here are all the playable factions in Total War: Pharoah:

  • Egyptian Factions:
    • Ramesses, Seti, Tausret, Amenmesse
  • Canaanite Factions:
    • Bay and Irsu
  • Hittite Factions:
    • Kurunta and Suppiluliuma

All Total War Pharaoah Campaign Map & Playable Areas

Total War: Pharaoah playable areas are Egypt, Canaan, and Anatolia from the Bronze Age period. Reddit user Ganossa shared a full campaign map where the starting position depends on what faction you choose:

As you can see, you'll be forced to deal with those territories in the middle of the map sooner or later. They are choking points with immense strategic importance. But investing too much in those areas will make you weak in other places. Using the water path to avoid land is one of the potential dangers. Having allies to have your back is one way to avoid being attacked from behind.
