When you get a notification claiming that your Power Station is overloaded in Cities: Skylines 2, you might panic. But don't fret, there's an easy solution to fix this issue and get back to having electricity provided to your citizens.
Handling utilities in Cities: Skylines 2 can get complicated quickly, especially with changes to the system compared to the first Cities: Skylines game (like getting a notification for Power Overload). The way you fix Power Station Overload is with just a couple of tweaks to your infrastructure!
How do you fix Power Station Overload in Cities Skylines 2?
When you have a power plant, high voltage electricity is created to supply your city with power. However, you need to turn this high voltage power into low voltage power with the appropriate tools. You'll also need make sure everything is properly connected to do this, you need to:
- Make sure you have roads mapped out and Power Lines/Electric Cables connecting your whole town together.
- Ensure you have a Transformer connected to your Power Plant.
- Check that the Transformer and Power Plant have Power Lines and Electric Cables linking everything together.
- Lastly, make sure to un-pause your game after making these changes, as it takes a moment for the fix to take effect.

How to adjust Electric Power use in Cities Skylines 2
Sometimes, overuse of power is more your issue in Cities: Skylines 2, rather than overloading of power. In that case, it's quite an easy fix. You can just adjust the Budget of your electricity in the Services tab to lower costs. Be careful, though, as lowering your budget too low can cut off power to parts of your town. Make sure to zoom out and check all of your map after making adjustments.
