MW3 Experimental Playlist explained

The Experimental Playlist is a way for Sledgehammer Games to try out new features and gameplay changes in Modern Warfare 3. In other words, it is a feature that allows the community to try out the upcoming changes on a separate server.

This playlist has all the normal maps for six-vs-six matches, but the game modes are different. The main reason why it is not part of the regular playlist is the changes might affect the gameplay experience for many players if they are applied to the whole game without considering their feedback.

In the first phase, all enemy operators will have red outlines in the Experimental Playlist, as it is often hard to see enemies on maps because they can blend into the background, making them more difficult to target and shoot. The Experimental Playlist addresses this issue by highlighting enemy operators with a color outline to distinguish them from the environment.

While it's not been officially confirmed yet, we expect the Modern Warfare 3 developers to introduce a variety of experimental features to this playlist in the upcoming updates. The developers will also gather the feedback of the players who try out these new features.

If they are well-liked by most players, the developers add them to the game with slight adjustments. At the same time, these Experimental features won't make their way to the regular playlist if the developers receive a negative response from the community.
