Baldur's Gate 3 has a rich narrative that comes with plenty of choices for you to make. One of them is dealing with the incubus Harleep, but if you aren't sure about what to expect, here are all the options and outcomes in BG3.
What happens if you reject Harleep's offer in BG3?
I chose not to tell him the real reason for entering The House of Hope at which point, Harleep tried to persuade my character to play a little game. He says, You win I give you everything you desire but also tells you that losing will be far more enjoyable.
You will get the following dialogue choices during this conversation:
- What's the game
- I'm not going to play with you
- Attack
I selected the first option and he mentioned, it's a surprise and asked my character to take off the clothes. If you know the nature of an incubus, you might want to rethink that. I chose the option of not removing my garments. A fight will ensue between Harleep and your character once you reject his offer.
It's not a difficult fight but you need to deal with Harleep and their Imps minions. You need to eliminate six Imps who appear as soon as the fight begins. I used the Eldritch Blast cantrip to destroy them quickly. Harleep uses his Incubus charm to control your party members in which case, you won't have their support for the next three turns. He'll also use the Ethereal Escape which is an annoying move because even if you do manage to get a hit, the incubus disappears instantly. Once you have managed to defeat him and the Imps, you will get the Key to Raphael's Safe and Helldusk Gloves as a reward.
What happens if you accept Harleep's offer in BG3?
If you choose to give in for a little devilish time, Harleep will try to seduce your character to the best of their abilities. The game is simple, you will need to resist his charms and seduction. If you completely submit to him, you will suffer a permanent death and cannot be further resurrected.
The first dialogue option, You can have my body, but not my mind, is the safest way to proceed with this interaction. With this option, Harleep teases you and later speaks about Raphael's Safe. The incubus also mentions the key required to open this safe.
The second dialogue choice that appears during this interaction My heart and soul are yours; if you give in to this temptation, your character dies at the end of the incubus's game.
You'll also get a Constitution check as a third dialogue option that says Try to cool your desires and push the creature away; choosing this option eventually leads to the fight with Harleep. My advice is to select the first dialogue choice as it's the safest method to keep your companions alive.
After obtaining the key for Raphael's Safe, you can take the Orphic Hammer from the Archives Room (if you did not sign Raphael's deal). If you signed his deal, the contract will be hidden in the Archives Room instead of the hammer. In addition to the Key to Raphael's safe, players will get the Helldusk Gloves as a reward after eliminating Harleep.
Where to find Harleep in BG3
Harleep is a look-alike incubus of the devil Raphael and he can be found inside the House of Hope (X: -6493 Y: 2981). The House of Hope is the humble abode of Raphael and to reach this location, you will need to perform Helsik's ritual in the Devil's Fee shop. Upon doing this ritual, a portal will open through which you can reach The House of Hope.
At the House of Hope, you will encounter Harleep inside the Boudoir relaxing on a bed. Upon seeing your party, a conversation will ensue where he asks, Why are you here, little thief?
You will get the following options to choose from:
- Raphael?! You're looking very... skimpy.
- I seek the Orphic Hammer. You can't stop me.
- It was an accident- a botched teleportation.
- I won't tell you.
- To kill you.
