During an already exciting evening of The Game Awards 2023, those watching got a particularly special treat. McConaughey arrived to let gamers know he has a new project.
Just shy of one hour into The Game Awards 2023, the audience was treated to the surprise of iconic actor Matthew McConaughey walking onto the stage. Not only was he there for one of the biggest nights in gaming, but he was also carrying an announcement of his own. McConaughey let viewers know that he'd be the central voice in a new video game titled Exodus. He expressed his excitement for the project and seemed happy to deliver the news.
After his delivery of the news, a trailer for Exodus began. The video game was revealed to be a science fiction RPG with a heavy focus on time dilation, a concept where time travels at different speeds as it is affected by motion and gravity. Exodus appears to be, more than anything, a game of choices. Decisions you make look to heavily alter what happens for you in the game.

Technically, there's no specific release date for Exodus yet. Instead, gamers were let know the cutoff date for becoming a "Founder," which is March 31, 2024. This could also be the release date for Exodus, but this wasn't said during the trailer, which ultimately makes it unclear. Players can enjoy Exodus on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC.
