If you do not have The Sims 4 For Rent pack, don't worry. Since you can download a complete standalone mod that, in my opinion, does a few things better than the official expansion pack for the game. The Sims 4 For Rent mod is free and includes all aspects of rental property management, realtors, multiple property ownership, and property listings.

Househusband and Housewife trait

Once you have finished building your real estate empire, you can shift your focus to spending time at home and nurturing your family. The househusband and housewife traits provide buffs that encourage your Sim to embrace a family-oriented lifestyle in gameplay. With the househusband and housewife mods, you won't have to worry about working a job ever again. Instead, you can become a full-time landlord, earning profits without the need to show up regularly, except for occasional check-ins at your rental properties.

Elevators

I was very excited about The Sims 4 For Rent expansion because I was convinced that it would definitely include residential elevators. However, I was mistaken about it. There's no need to worry, though, because you can simply download the elevator mod to create a semi-high-rise apartment complex-style rental unit with multiple apartments for people to use. You can even build a hotel if you'd like.

SNBank Bills

If you're looking for a gameplay experience where you begin with nothing after moving into a new house or apartment and strive to improve your life, the SNBank Bills mod is ideal. Dealing with high bills and covering utility expenses can be challenging, so you can seek government assistance to alleviate these financial burdens. You can even get assistance with paying your rent, which is a pretty cool feature of the Sims 4 For Rent expansion.

Dimmed Inactive Rentals

Imagine spending so much time building a rental unit from scratch and renting it to someone, only to have it completely blacked off because The Sims 4 doesn't have an open world, forcing a loading screen every time you enter a house. While not all of that can be fixed, you can install a mod that dims an inactive apartment unit to provide just the right lighting for you to see everything inside while it remains static.

MC Command Center

The MC Command Center mod is the Swiss army knife of all Sims 4 mods. This mod gives you the ability to control almost every aspect of the game, particularly your Sims and other town residents. You can click on anything or anyone, with the ability to customize details such as their age, skills, entering CAS, and much more. This mod will be helpful if you're attempting to kick out Sims from rental units or adjust their traits to fit their surroundings.

Ding & Ditch Smart Doorbell

When you have multiple rental units in a single apartment complex, having doorbells is a key detail to add more character to your build. The Ding and Ditch Smart Doorbell mod is a sophisticated and well-made mod that provides multiple detection modes, including ring only, motion, face ID, and off, which can be easily switched between. You can also enhance the performance of this doorbell by upgrading it to work off the grid using batteries.

Unlocked Apartment Shells

I was disappointed to learn that the Sims 4 For Rent expansion does not support tall apartment buildings, similar to the ones in City Living. With this mod, you can achieve just that. There are eight unlocked apartment shells that you can place on any lot in a world with enough space. You can work on the first floor and finish off with the top floor, creating various apartments as you like.

Enhanced Tomarang

In my opinion, the map of Tomarang in the Sims 4 For Rent expansion pack is extremely underwhelming. Not only does it have almost no rental complexes, but it also appears unfinished and of low quality. With the Enhanced Tomarang map mod, you can enjoy a much more visually appealing map instead of the dull, washed-out textures. You should keep in mind that this mod only works for the neighborhood map screen and not the actual game textures themselves!

More Sims in the world

This is one of my favorite mods in The Sims 4 overall. The game has always felt a bit empty to me, no matter which neighborhood I play in. The more Sims in the world mod provides a greater number of Sims in various locations throughout the game world. This works wonders for Tomarang, as I had trouble finding anyone at the night market when it should have been the opposite. You also have the ability to customize the limit of people in each neighborhood. In addition, this will provide you with a larger pool of people to choose from for your rental units.

These are the 10 mods that I believe are the best to use with The Sims 4 For Rent expansion pack. In addition to these, the Sims 4 modding community has created many more complex mods. I recommend that you check all of your options and always be sure to back up your save file. I also recommend backing up your save game files to prevent a corrupted mod from affecting your progress.
