How to play SSF in Last Epoch (and how it works)

The difference between SSF versions.

Last Epoch, like Path of Exile and other similar titles, has the option for you to choose to play Solo Self Found (also known as SSF). It has several settings you can choose in order to make this challenge mode work perfectly for you.

How Solo Self Found works in Last Epoch

As the name suggests, Solo Self Found is a setting in Last Epoch that restricts your ability to play or trade with other players. While you can choose to turn off trading with other players by not choosing the Merchant's Guild faction, normal play still allows you to group up online with other Last Epoch players. But if you like the idea of true SSF, you can turn those settings on while making a character. When you choose the type of SSF you want to play, you can also choose between normal and hardcore while you're at it.

Solo Account Found

When you go to create a new character, there are four options on the left of the screen: Normal and Hardcore, and two different challenge modes called Solo Account Found and Solo Character Found. Solo Account Found means that you cannot play or trade with other characters or the Bazaar, but you can exchange items across all the characters in your account.

Solo Character Found

For a truer, more challenging SSF, you can choose to even turn off trading between your own characters. If you want to only be able to use the items you personally have found in your current playthrough, this is the choice you would click on. Like the other setting, this turns off play with others and trading and buying on the Bazaar as well.
