While the vehicles introduced in LEGO Fortnite's 29.10 update are awesome, everyone is very excited about the wrench addition to the game. Here's how to use the wrench to assign switches and thrusters in LEGO Fortnite.
How to Unlock and Craft the Wrench
The wrench is a super useful tool in LEGO Fortnite because you can use it to assign switches and thrusters to channels on a custom vehicle since the official vehicles work differently than the contraptions players had created before their introduction to the game. However, to use it, you must first unlock and craft the wrench. Check out how to do that below.

Unlocking the Wrench is pretty simple. All you have to do is add a Wooden Rod to your inventory. If you don't have one, you can craft it at the Lumber Mill using one Wood. Once you have it in your inventory, you'll unlock the recipe to craft the wrench.

To make a Cord, you need to collect Vines from bushes first, and then you can craft it at the Spinning Wheel.
What are Switches and Thrusters in LEGO Fortnite?
Activation switches and thrusters control the movement of a vehicle in LEGO Fortnite. Before the Mechanical Mayhem update, players used them to create their vehicles since there weren't any official ones.
However, it was tough to make it so that one switch would control only one thruster and not all of them. This separation is necessary so that you can move in all directions instead of just forwards. With the wrench, you can separate and assign different switches to different thrusters easily.
How to Assign Switches and Thrusters in LEGO Fortnite
First, make sure that you have the wrench in your hand. Once you build your vehicle and add all switches and thrusters, approach the first switch that you want to assign to a specific channel. You can work with three channels.
As an example, say you want to assign the right switch to only activate the right thruster. Approach that switch and click on it with the same control you would use for attacking. When you do so, a menu will pop up. Select only one of the channels while turning off the rest of them.
Now go to the right thruster and do the same. Make sure to select the same channel and switch off all the rest. Enjoy the ease of this setup and explore the map with your own custom vehicles.
