In the fish factory, you'll hit a bit of a stumbling block, as you need to cross an elevator shaft to reach the other side. Here's how to solve the elevator puzzle in INDIKA so that you can get safely across without falling to your death.
After getting on a train and making your way through the fish factory in INDIKA, you will reach an obstacle. To progress the story, you will have to cross an elevator shaft on the third floor. But it isn't as easy as it sounds. This is a tricky puzzle that had me stumped for a while.
How to get across the elevator shaft in INDIKA
There are two elevators, each opening on one side (the one facing you), so you can't just go through them. You also can't climb on top of them as the ledge is too high up when they are on the same floor as you. However, as you will be familiar with from a previous puzzle, you can climb on top of the slabs of stone that are on the roof of the elevator if they are a floor lower.
This means that you have to leave one elevator on the floor below. The issue is that the floor below doesn't have access to the staircase that goes from the ground floor all the way to the top. So, if you take one elevator to that floor, you can neither go up or down anymore.
You can get around this by jumping down the other elevator shaft. However, make sure that there is an elevator below, or you will be jumping to your death. First, take one elevator all the way down to the floor with a big number 1 on the ground. Once it's there, climb up the stairs to get the other elevator and take it to the numberless floor with no staircase access.
Now, jump down the other elevator shaft and onto the first elevator and floor. Once you've done this, you can safely climb back up and climb across the elevator to the next section of the factory.
