One important aspect of early access games is whether your save file will be available once the full game launches. So does Hades 2 early access progress carry over or should you wait to play it?
Hades 2 is out in early access, and the developers will use the feedback from the community to improve it, just like they've done with Hades 2. So far, all I've seen are great impressions, and hopefully, it will stay that way when they add a major update later in the year and launch the full version (most likely in early 2025).
Does your Hades 2 early access save carry over?
The question on everyone's mind is whether your Hades 2 early access save carries over. The developers have stated that they will do their best to ensure your save files are available with the full game launch. However, this implies that there is still a risk that you won't be able to continue your save if something unfortunate happens.
As someone who has played many worlds and had to start over in games like 7 Days to Die when every single patch breaks the old one, I don't see it as an issue and will keep playing all Hades 2 during its early access period. A lot of fans who plan to replay the game won't be as bothered either and many enjoy being part of the process, identifying issues for the developer or providing more detailed feedback to fine-tune the gameplay for its 1.0 release.
The big issue will be for the casual fans who don't have as many hours to commit to one single game due to obligations. If you would only like to play the game once, then I suggest you wait for the full launch, when you'll get more of the story, a new region, new weapons, etc. But if you're just excited to be playing another Hades game, then early access is perfect.
