Update April 16
The PlayStation 5 version of Genshin Impact has finally got a release date, it is coming on April 28. PlayStation 5 users do not have long to wait before they can explore Teyvat in glorious 4k.
Genshin Impact has been a massive success straight from the get-go when it launched half a year ago. With four major updates, and a fifth coming in a few weeks, there's always been something to do in the land of Teyvat!
Now it seems miHoYo has got a next-gen version in their eyes, as they have just released a trailer for an upcoming PlayStation 5 version, but no release date, only the words Coming Soon. PlayStation has been the home for Genshin Impact from launch and has been downloading millions of times, and those numbers combined with PC and Mobile, have been astronomical. This is a new native version, for the PS5.
The PlayStation 5 version is going to make use of the extra power of the console to give a stunning 4k experience to the open-world of Teyvat. While improving loading times so your time spent traveling will be as seamless as possible.
"The PlayStation®5 is an ideal platform to enhance the vast open world featuring in Genshin Impact, allowing the team to incorporate more thoughts and ideas into the game, both now and in the future," said Forrest Liu, President of miHoYo. "That's why we've been working to bring the native PlayStation®5 version of the game to our players as soon as we could."
However, this, of course, has got Nintendo fans wondering what happen to the Nintendo Switch version? Have they forgotten about the portable version of Genshin Impact? Or are they waiting for the rumored Switch Pro to come available before the title gets released?
MiHiYo did mention not long ago that the Nintendo Switch version is 100% still in the works, but with the PlayStation 5 version superseding it, who truly knows!
MiHoYo has made good timing, as if the PS5 version gets released before 1.5, with rumored of two new characters coming Eula, and Yanfei, along with leaks about housing.
When more information gets revealed, we'll be sure to let you all know, especially if it's Nintendo Switch-related!
