The Phasmophobia console release date has finally been announced

And we can't wait to play it!

It seems like ages ago since Phasmophobia was initially announced for consoles. Although fans couldn't wait to play this horror game, the release date was never revealed—until now! The date is so obvious that it could've been revealed much earlier.

According to the Steam post from developers, Phasmophobia is coming to consoles during an in-game Halloween event this year. While the exact date of the event is not mentioned, it's safe to say that on October 31, 2024, you'll be playing Phasmophobia on your console for the price of $19.99. The price is increasing because of the "amount of content and playtime added," according to developers.

Knowing how long the wait was, the Phasmophobia team has expressed gratitude to the community for their patience following the delay of last year’s estimated release date. They explained the delay was necessary to give them more time to complete everything planned for the Phasmophobia console release.

While we know when the game will be released on PlayStation and Xbox, the developers are still working on updates. One thing that will have to wait is the ability to use voice recognition. Until voice support is implemented, you'll have to use text input for voice recognition. When Phasmophobia arrives on consoles, all platforms will be running the current major version, 0.10. As for the new content, such as the farmhouse reworks, it will be released a bit later.

While Phasmophobia is a popular horror investigation game, the developers are taking their time to add everything needed. It's safe to say that fans were more scared by the postponement of the console launch than those speedy Phasmophobia ghosts. At least updates will be more efficient, as they'll be released on all platforms simultaneously to ensure that cross-play is always available.
