Rowing across the sea in Roblox's Fisch.

How to get a boat in Roblox Fisch

The rowboat is SO SLOW.

So, you’re ready to leave the starter island in Roblox Fisch and explore the great watery beyond? Well, first things first - you’ll need a boat! But here’s the catch: Boats only unlock after you complete the tutorial quests. It’s one of those things the game doesn’t make super clear, so if you’ve tried talking to the Shipwright and nothing happened, it’s because you haven’t finished those pesky starter quests yet!

How to buy your first boat in Fisch on Roblox

Step 1: Complete the tutorial quests

To even think about sailing on the open seas of the Fisch experience, you need to finish the tutorial quests, which start by talking to Pierre. This is one of those moments where it feels like the game is testing your patience, especially since no instructions pop up after that initial quest marker. Stick with it though - completing these is the only way to get your first boat!

Pierre is the tutorial NPC, and you'll find him right next to the docks on the starter island (Moosewood). When you load up Fisch for the first time, you'll see a line connecting your avatar to Pierre. Speak to him, and he'll ask you to catch three fish so that you can get to grips with the game.

After that, go back to Pierre and finish the second fishing quest. This one asks you to sell enough fish to make 500C$ and buy your first fishing rod from the merchant (located up the ramp next to Pierre). The cheapest rod is 300C$.

Step 2: Buy your first boat

Once you're done, it’s time to visit the Shipwright, he's right next to the docks, as well. You won’t even be able to talk to him until you’ve completed the tutorial, so don’t bother rushing over there right away.

After unlocking the conversation, you’ll discover that baby’s first boat, aka the Rowboat, costs a cool 700C$. It’s not much, but when you’re just starting out, it definitely feels like you’ll be scrounging up every coin.

Step 3: Spawn your boat

Once you’ve handed over your hard-earned cash to the Shipwright and bought the Rowboat, scroll up the boat list to find your boat and hit that Spawn button. Your new boat should appear in the middle of the two piers, ready to set sail. Hop on and start exploring to catch all the fish in Fisch!

Oh, and just a heads up - you can’t swim your way to other islands. Trust me, I tried, and all I got was a quick trip to Drown City and a hole in my wallet (you lose money when you go unconscious).
