How to Get the Phoenix Rod in Fisch [Ancient Isles]

This is such a pretty fishing rod!

The Phoenix Rod is the better of the two purchasable rods from the Ancient Isle update in Fisch. Although finding it requires some careful exploration, it’s absolutely worth the effort, especially compared to the underwhelming Stone Rod. Read the guide below to find out where the Phoenix Rod is and its states:

To start your journey, head to the Ancient Isle and go to the waterfall in the center of the largest island. From the waterfall, cross over to the Meteoriticist NPC, and climb the cliffs behind him.

Keep to the right (heading southeast) after you've climbed a few platforms, and follow the cliff edge until you reach a wide platform at coordinates (5949, 327, 816). You'll know you're in the right spot if you see a vibrant pink flower just around the corner.

From this vantage point, look down to the platform below you. Hidden on this platform is a cave entrance obscured by vines and leaves. Carefully drop down onto the platform, ensuring you land in front of the vines at coordinates (5925, 281, 883). The entrance to the cave should now be visible, and you can go inside. Once inside the cave, you’ll find the Phoenix Rod waiting for you. It costs 40,000C$, making it a hefty investment, but its stats do somewhat justify the price.

Should I Buy the Phoenix Rod?

The Phoenix Rod's high lure speed and boosted luck make it a fantastic option for players wanting to catch rare or exotic fish. However, the resilience penalty means you’ll need to be more careful during the fishing mini-game, as it might be slightly harder to keep your catches under control. It's not the best rod in Fisch, and it's certainly not going to replace the Rod of the Depths any time soon.

However, while the price tag may seem steep, the Phoenix Rod is better than the Midas Rod, which costs more at 55,000C$. It also looks impressive, which is always a bonus in Fisch. If you’re still using basic or underperforming rods, upgrading to the Phoenix Rod will make your fishing adventures far more efficient and rewarding.

The Phoenix Rod also gives you a 40% chance to catch fish that are "set ablaze" - this is the Scorched Mutation.
