GHOUL RE Quinque Guide – How to Unlock and Evolve

If you spawn as a Human in GHOUL://RE, then you can't rely on Kagune, instead you'll have to craft your own Quinque. Quinque are powerful weapons that help CCG investigators take down Ghouls. These weapons will serve as your best offense as well as defense. So, to help you get your hands on the best Quinque, we've compiled a comprehensive guide on how you can unlock and evolve a Quinque in GHOUL://RE.

How to unlock Quinque in GHOUL RE?

Unlike Ghouls, Humans are part of the CCG, also known as the Commission of Counter Ghoul, in GHOUL://RE. So, rather than devouring, their priority is to take down Ghouls. While you'll be at an inherent disadvantage in comparison to stats, your Quinque can help you take down almost any Ghoul.

To unlock your first Quinque, you need to complete quite a few steps. So, follow the steps mentioned below to unlock your Quinque:

1. You first need to achieve the Rank 1 Investigator status and collect 1,500 Yen (in-game currency). Once you’ve met these requirements, head to the CCG headquarters and speak with the receptionist at the entrance.
2. You will then receive a 'Briefcase' item in your inventory which is the most essential tool for obtaining your Quinque. Now, with the Briefcase, you need to hunt down a Ghoul who has unlocked their Kagune.
3. Once you knock down the Ghoul. You can need to use the Briefcase on the downed Ghoul to extract their Kagune. If successful, you will obtain a random Quinque for yourself.

Do note that if you die while carrying the Briefcase, you’ll lose it and need to pay another 1,500 Yen to acquire a new one. So, handle it with caution.

How to get a Standard Issue Quinque?

Before you can get your hands on truly powerful Quinque. You need to go to the CCG Headquarters and get a 'Standard Issue' Quinque to get started. CCG provides three Standard Issue Quinque options at a nominal fee of 100 Yen each. Here are the weapons, and what they do:

• Tsunagi (Katana): Has a feinting slash Critical skill. High burst damage.
• Ifraft and Abksol (Daggers): Has a spinning slash skill that teleports after a downslam.
• Senza (Spear): Can inflict debuffs such as hunger loss or anti-heal after a running thrust attack.

You can buy these weapons on the upper floor of the CCG base.

How to evolve Quinque in GHOUL RE?

Once you unlock your Quinque, that isn't the end. You'll need to continuously upgrade it to keep up with the evolving Ghouls. Unlike Ghouls, you need to craft your Quinque's evolution rather than it happening on its own. So, you need to visit the second floor of the CCG HQ and speak to the NPC to open the crafting interface.

Initially, you’ll only see basic materials in the crafting interface. To unlock specific Quinque recipes, you need 'Blueprint' items. Blueprints are essential for crafting advanced Quinque. You can get them by either killing NPCs or by participating in events like Artifact Capture.

Using a Blueprint adds a random Quinque recipe to the research center, which will then appear in your crafting interface. You'll also need to collect various items and materials to craft the Blueprint recipe, only then you can evolve your Quinque.
