Popular fictional metal band returns for Alan Wake 2
Announced via Twitter on October 4, 2023, Sam Lake confirmed the return of the fictional rock band, Old Guards of Asgard, to the Alan Wake franchise. Many fans of Alan Wake were fond of the band in the first entry to the franchise, so this is widely regarded as positive news. Even on the thread itself, users were quick to show their support for the announcement and the music's presence in the sequel that's to be released on October 27, 2023.
Old Guards of Asgard is a fictional heavy metal rock band that was founded by the (also fictional) Anderson brothers in the year 1971. In addition to the Anderson brothers, the other two band members are Bob Balder and Loki Darkens. Their band makes up a good chunk of the music you encounter in Alan Wake. We think you can expect in Alan Wake 2 to encounter them, too. In reality, Old Guards of Asgard is portrayed by the real-life band Poets of the Fall.
