Hit online multiplayer game Among Us made huge waves since it came out, and the game has only expanded since then—from new maps to additional cosmetic items.

However, The Game Awards 2021 threw in a pleasant surprise: Among Us is coming to virtual reality (VR). The release date is expected to be sometime in 2022 on the PlayStation VR, MetaQuest 2, and Steam VR. Below is the trailer shown during the event.

Among Us VR will be developed by Innersloth in collaboration with Schell Games. The latter is famous for creating the multi-awarded I Expect You To Die series, a goofy yet quick thinking VR escape room game. The oddly fluid movements and well-lit environments featured in the brief trailer above is very reminiscent of this title. Among Us VR will be keeping its iconic artstyle, however.

While you wait for Among Us VR to release, know that you can play a perfectly functional 2D version of the game on nearly every gaming platform available, such mobile, PC, Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
